City of LA Launches Participatory Budgeting Pilot

Want to make a difference? Looking to have a direct positive impact on your community - and make history? Look no further than the L.A. REPAIR Participatory Budgeting program.

L.A. REPAIR will be rolling out this year in three LA communities: Boyle Heights, Mission Hills - Panorama City - North Hills, and South LA east of the 110 Fwy. If you live in one of these L.A. REPAIR Zones, apply now to join your Advisory Committee and help participatory budgeting roll out in your community.

The L.A. REPAIR Participatory Budgeting program will give communities the power to decide how to spend public dollars on programs that directly benefit them. Thanks to Mayor Garcetti’s Justice Budget and the L.A. City Council, everyday Angelenos in underserved communities will be able to propose ideas, vote on proposals, and directly impact how dollars are spent in their neighborhoods.

Anyone over 16 years of age in the following 3 communities (called L.A. REPAIR Zones) are welcome to apply for the Advisory Committee now:

  • Boyle Heights

  • Mission Hills-Panorama City-North Hills

  • Southeast Los Angeles (South LA east of the 110 Freeway)

The following REPAIR Zones will launch their participatory program in 2023:

  • Arleta-Pacoima

  • Skid Row

  • South Los Angeles

  • West Adams-Baldwin Village-Leimert Park

  • Westlake

  • Wilmington & Harbor Gateway

This way, we can ensure each Zone has the attention, support and outreach needed for a successful participatory budgeting process.
