Posted on 04/26/2024
Dear Neighbors,

On  April 22, Mayor Karen Bass unveiled her $13 billion proposed City budget for the upcoming 2024-2025 Fiscal Year. Budget, Finance and Innovation (BFI) Committee members, led by Chair Bob Blumenfield, are gearing up to commence deliberations and engage with the Mayor's Office and City departments in public sessions starting next Tuesday, April 30.

Each session will be broadcast live on Cable Television LA CityView 35 and via the internet at https://clerk.lacity.org/calendar, where Angelenos can take part in the process. The hearings will focus largely on addressing affordable housing, homelessness reduction efforts, support for public safety, violence prevention and intervention, as well as essential city services and personnel recruitment.

At the end of the budget sessions, a special meeting of the City Council will convene on May 23, where all 15 members will vote to approve the final budget.
